Rugged laptops are military-grade laptops can withstand drops, mud, falls, and vibrations, and it comes with double batteries so you never run out of power on the job.
The Rugged laptops are compact beasts that look like they belong
on a battlefield, true to their rugged design. The tablet's thick black shell
fits around a grey back of the phone with a power button, volume control, and
programmable key on the right, and a Windows home button on the bottom. Three
LED indicators on the top right of rugged laptops signify power, Internet
access, and battery level. On the bottom edge of rugged laptops are a docking
port, antenna port, Kensington switch, and hidden power supply. You'll see one
USB 3.0, HDMI, and headphone attachment on the left side, both of which are
protected by a plastic flap that you can lock.
A concave pocket for the integrated stylus, as
well as a triple-locked panel that protects the rugged laptop dual 2,160 mAh
batteries can be found on the backside of the ruggedized tablets. The F110's
two-battery nature is intended to keep it running indefinitely since one
battery can be left in while the other is replaced. These rugged laptops are
made to withstand extreme weather. The durable slate has passed MIL-STD 810G
and MIL-STD-461F testing and can withstand temperatures varying from minus 20
degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, the humidity of up to 95 percent, and
frequent vibrations.
The rugged laptops can handle a drop from five
feet onto half-inch plywood over concrete. As part of a test, Getac ruggedized
laptops were lowered from the same height onto the carpet, with no loss other
than the stylus sticking out of its frame. After the crash, the tablet remained
sensitive, helping us to type and browse the web with ease. Rugged laptops can
endure any extreme work environment with ease. With minimal supervision, the
parts in these rugged laptops can be replaced and repaired. This is also the
unique selling point of these rugged laptops.
While the rugged laptops cannot be completely submerged underwater, the IP65-certified ruggedized tablets have sufficiently protected ports to withstand low-pressure streams of water as well as dust. After pouring a few ounces of water on the F110's phone, we were unable to communicate with app icons, presumably because the tablet mistook the water for input. However, until we wiped the show dry, these ruggedized tablets were good to go
These rugged laptops are
made to withstand extreme heat, but the heat shouldn't be generated by the unit
itself. The screen hit 95 degrees after 15 minutes of HD video on the tough
slate, which meets our 95-degree comfort threshold. The backside of the slate
horizontal touched a very alarming 100 degrees, but we only felt the
temperature in our left hand while holding it.
Rugged laptops that have been ruggedized aren't designed to be used as boomboxes. On the right side of the backplate, these rugged tablets have a single-inch-wide speaker. When performing, rock songs like Taking Back Sunday's "Stood a Chance" seemed paper-thin, with canned voices and almost indistinguishable bass.
